Norma Hills, M.A., L.C.P.C.


Norma provides a supportive and safe place for people to be honest with themselves, gain insight and self-awareness, find strength to face personal and relational issues in life, and provide hope for the future. She draws on her genuine empathy, compassion, and life experiences to provide insight and direction as she journeys together with people in this growth process. She sees this as an opportunity to help others move toward wellbeing and wholeness emotionally, socially, physically and spiritually.


Norma is a skilled therapist experienced in helping adults, older adults, couples, and families. Her areas of expertise include being bilingual and demonstrating cultural sensitivity in counseling for anxiety, depression, marital and family issues, life transitions, illnesses, later life challenges, trauma, cross-cultural adjustments, spiritual and faith concerns, and ministry related matters. 


Norma joined Alliance in 2016. She earned her master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Trinity International University in 2013. She previously worked as a bilingual counselor at the DuPage County Health Department (DCHD). Norma’s first career included twenty years of international ministry in Latin American countries including: Costa Rica, Colombia, and Chile. Her years in international ministry equipped her to provide a deep culturally and spiritually sensitive approach in working with people of all ages.


Norma is a member of the Illinois Mental Health Counselors Association (IMHCA), the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC), and she is a certified facilitator for Prepare/Enrich.

 

Norma loves spending time with her husband of 40 years, her three married children and their spouses, and her 3 grandchildren. Norma enjoys walking, reading, cooking, and gardening and being involved in her church community.
