Dr. Migdalia Miranda Sotir completed her undergraduate education at Amherst College in Massachusetts. She received her medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico. She went on to Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where she completed an internship in Internal Medicine and a residency in Psychiatry. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and a member of the American Psychiatric Association. 


She treats patients with a multiplicity of conditions and utilizes a wide range of biological, psychotherapeutic, and psychosocial treatments tailored to the specific needs of the patient.


Dr. Sotir wants you to feel welcomed in her office so you can identify and utilize all tools at your disposal to implement and create changes that translate into a better quality of life. In doing so, she sees you as a whole person and as a unique and most worthy individual. 


She has a special interest in those suffering from anxiety disorders (panic, social anxiety, OCD) and mood disorders (depression, bipolar disorder). She provides care for physicians and professionals dealing with burnout. Dr. Sotir helps women as they address different mental health issues throughout their lives. These include: reproductive (infertility, loss, pregnancy, menopause), as well as work and family related. She is uniquely qualified and has extensive experience helping parents challenged by having special needs children find balance, support, direction, and joy in all areas of individual and family life.


Dr. Sotir was born and raised in Puerto Rico and has lived most of her life in the States. She is fluent in both English and Spanish. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, exercising, and walking outdoors.
