Kristi Stockman-Balc, Ph.D.,

Licensed Clinical Psychologist


Kristi joined Alliance in 2000. She is a licensed clinical psychologist. She specializes in working with children and adolescents 2-18 in individual and family therapy, as well as parenting interventions. Kristi also enjoys working with adults in goal-oriented individual therapy. Kristi’s treatment approach includes cognitive behavioral therapy as well as developmental and family systems theories. She has significant experience treating folks with anxiety disorders, depression, ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder, and other behavior disorders. She also has much experience working with families around problems related to divorce or separation.


Kristi’s training experiences have been broad. She completed her undergraduate education at the University of Minnesota and received her doctorate from DePaul University in clinical-community psychology. Kristi’s early training was in the DePaul Community Mental Health Center with an emphasis on play therapy with children and family therapy. During her doctoral internship training in Wichita, Kansas, she was trained in forensic evaluations, sex offender treatment, and adult inpatient treatment of severe and persistent mental illness. She received specialty training as a Clinical Fellow at the University of Chicago’s Preschool Behavior Problems Clinic. Kristi also worked extensively in the DCFS system with pregnant and parenting teen moms and has published articles in this area.
