Kelly Tiemens, M.S., L.C.P.C.

Kelly Tiemens is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with a Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from National Louis University. Prior to joining Alliance, she worked with adolescents and adults in an outpatient hospital setting managing mental health and chemical dependency concerns. Kelly specifically has supported clients struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief/loss, addiction, relationship difficulties, and spiritual struggles.

Kelly is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a helpful intervention to support clients who have experienced a certain level of trauma. She approaches her clients with empathy and compassion in creating a collaborative space for clients to feel safe in processing through life’s current situations or difficulties. Kelly seeks to walk alongside her clients and support them in challenging themselves to learn and grow through current life events.

“Life can bring about many different challenges, and taking the first step to seek therapy can be scary. There are times where we might feel like all hope has been lost. My passion is to provide a safe space for you to feel heard and to provide support in the challenging times that you may be experiencing. I like to prioritize the therapeutic relationship in order to build trust with my clients. My hope is to support you through an individualized approach as everyone experiences and processes through life events differently.”

Kelly and her husband reside in the western suburbs of Chicago with their son and daughter. As a family, they enjoy going to local parks, libraries, and indoor play zones. In her free time, Kelly loves listening to podcasts, audio books and visiting local coffee shops.
