Michael Tso, M.D.,

Family Physician

Michael Tso is a board certified family physician solely caring for adults, adolescents and children struggling with mental illness and addiction. He completed his undergraduate and medical degrees at Brown University and completed his residency at Oregon Health Sciences University.

Michael spent 11 years in family medicine private practice in Portland, Oregon where half of his work focused on mental health, mood disorders, and ADHD. He then served in leadership for 11 years at His Mansion Ministries in New Hampshire, a Christ-centered residential healing community serving young adults struggling with addiction, mental health and other life controlling issues. Since 1996, he has actively taught medical students, family medicine residents, undergraduate and graduate students in a variety of contexts and has a passion for the formation of young adults.

A whole person approach, addressing the health and challenges of body, soul (mind, will and emotions) and spirit, is central to Michael’s philosophy of care.

“Wisdom and empathy personally gained through suffering and loss are what I seek to bring to each patient encounter to deliver appropriate medical care, to grow healthy self-awareness and relating, and most importantly to lend hope.”

Michael has four thoughtful and engaging young adult children that teach him a lot about life and love. Sharing a cup of coffee or tea (or even better a meal) with a friend or stranger dialoguing about the things that matter is his favorite activity. If he’s not doing that you may find him discovering beauty, bicycling, hiking or reading Tolkien/Tolkienesque books. Michael walked the Camino de Santiago Francés in 2019.
