Aaron Wyncott, MSW, LSW
Aaron approaches the process of therapy with a posture of curiosity and exploration, working alongside clients to foster greater understanding of themselves, their unique circumstances, contexts, and challenges. He draws from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and other modalities, from an integrative theoretical orientation. He has experience in a variety of treatment concerns, with primary focus on the areas of anxiety, trauma, men’s issues, interpersonal challenges, and the intersection of faith and mental health. Aaron seeks to provide a safe, relational, and engaging environment toward developing insight, supporting change, and exploring new and old ways of being.
“I believe it is a privilege to witness the lives of those I work with as they invite me into portions of their story. It is a courageous act to step into the therapy room, and accompanying the people who walk through the door in the spaces of their lives that they share with me is an honor.”
Aaron earned his master’s degree in social work from Aurora University and is a Licensed Social Worker. He most recently comes from a community mental health context, engaging primarily in therapy with individuals, as well as with groups for men who have engaged in domestic violence. Additionally, before working as a therapist, Aaron worked in a group home setting for youth in care, interned in intensive residential treatment for substance use, and volunteered in ministry.
In his free time, Aaron enjoys spending time with friends, brewing coffee, reading, playing tabletop games, and exploring the outdoors and new coffee shops
