Rita M. Tranquilli, M.D.
Psychiatrist and Neurologist

Rita received her medical degree from the University of Illinois. She completed dual residences in psychiatry (at Duke University), and neurology (at the Medical College of Wisconsin). She also completed a movement disorders fellowship and is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

"Psychiatry affords me the privilege to assist clients as they deal with life’s challenges. Depression and anxiety are often more painful than a physical wound. However, emotional distress can also serve as a catalyst for tremendous personal growth. My goal is to facilitate the healing process and help patients access their own strength and courage. I find it particularly rewarding to address the spiritual dimension of healing with those individuals who are encouraged by their faith."

Dr. Tranquilli treats patients aged fourteen through the Medicare population for the full range of psychiatric issues. She is particularly interested in the integration of psychiatry and neurology, including disorders such as dementia, somatization, Parkinson’s disease, and tardive dyskinesia.

She utilizes a holistic approach to treatment, addressing each individual’s emotional, spiritual and physical needs.
