Jennifer Mangan, LPC
Jennifer received her training in clinical psychology from National Louis University. Prior to
her clinical training, she was a Columnist for the Chicago Tribune and New York Daily News.
She also was an Associate Editor for Christian Parenting magazine.
Jennifer enjoys working within a wide range of contexts including individual therapy with
adolescents, and adults, as well as couple and family therapy. Clinical interests include the
treatment of depression, anxiety, ADD/ADHD, eating disorders, self esteem, and emotional and
behavioral issues. Her areas of expertise include drug and alcohol counseling, sexual addiction
counseling, family and divorce mediation, and parent coaching.
I am grateful for my life experiences, for they have led me to this
rewarding work. I like what Helen Keller says: "I thank God for
my handicaps, for through them, I have found myself, my work,
and my God."
Jennifer received a Master’s level certification from the Parent Coaching Institute in 2003. Over
the years she has worked with a variety of parenting situations, each unique to its own family
system. She respects and admires parents and individuals who reach out for help because the
culture we live in does not support vulnerability. She believes it is the struggles and challenges
that refine us and make us better spouses, parents, and people. She is continually amazed at how
the coaching and therapeutic process can transform relationships and renew the spirit. She enjoys
incorporating humor into the therapy experience, allowing laughter to aid in the healing process.
Jennifer was featured on Good Morning America, Fox News, and in the New York Times as a
weekly parenting expert.
Jennifer is married, has 4 children, and 4 dogs. She enjoys going to the movies, reading, fishing,
dancing when no one’s watching, and laughing at her husband’s wonderful sense of humor!
