Dorothy recently joined Alliance after working 25 years as an advanced practice nurse and therapist in Behavioral Health Services at Central DuPage Hospital. She has been a therapist and educator for people with anxiety disorders, depression, Bipolar Disorder, addictions and grief and loss issues. She does individual, marital and family therapy. Dorothy has a particular interest in working with adults who have both physical and emotional issues, including chronic pain, neurological disorders and chronic illness.

Dorothy received her master’s degree in Psychiatric Nursing at Ohio State University and is credentialed as a clinical nurse specialist and as an addiction counselor. She uses psychodynamic/insight-oriented therapy as well as cognitive-behavioral therapy.
Dorothy has two adult sons and loves music and gardening. She is active in her church and has a special interest in learning about other cultures through missions.
